    Aircraft Structures Business Area Manager

    SDC is looking for an engineer with significant experience and contacts in aircraft structures to fill a position leading the Aircraft Structures Business Area. Composite materials are making significant in-roads into both commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs and are viewed as a growth market.     Business Development Manager / Program Manager

    The business development manager is responsible for expanding the firm's business with new and existing clients and will penetrate existing markets through assessment of marketing opportunities and target markets; intelligence gathering on customers and competitors; generating leads for possible sales; advising on, drafting and enforcing sales policies and processes; follow-up sales activity; formal proposal and presentation management and writing; pitch and presentation rehearsals; business model design; account planning and performance monitoring; proposition and campaign development.     Senior Level Engineers

    SDC is currently looking for degreed Senior Level Engineers with 7 to 20 years of experience with strong technical capabilities as well as the ability to manage projects. The candidate should have extensive aerospace experience in composite materials. A Master's Degree is preferred. In addition to performing design and or analytical evaluations, the candidate should also be familiar with management tools such as MS Project.

    Entry Level Engineers

    SDC is currently looking for degreed Entry Level Engineers with 0-7 years of experience with B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, and/or structural engineering. A Master's Degree in aerospace, mechanical, and/or structural engineering a plus. In addition, experience in composites or a background in materials and processes is a strong plus. Specifically, the candidate should have experience in composites design/manufacturing producibility enhanced by a high level of proficiency in solid modeling, or an analytical engineer with strong proficiencies in micro-mechanics and finite element analysis.

    Technicians

    SDC is currently looking for Technicians with 5 to 10 years of experience in composites and or hybrid metal and composites fabrication. Familiar with all steps in the manufacturing of aerospace type components including tooling design, precursor preparation, lay-up and cure, and post machining. Familiarity with all types of manufacturing approaches is important including prepreg and resin infusion approaches, one and two-sided tooling, hand lay-up and automated fiber placement techniques. Must be familiar with joining of metals and composites. Coming from an ISO environment is given a high priority.

    Engineering Internship

    SDC places great value in developing engineers through our College Internship Program. SDC is a fast growing, small business with a mission to develop, demonstrate and insert advanced materials into aerospace systems. SDC relies on its highly qualified engineering staff to manage programs, meet all of the technical requirements, and communicate results to our customers.
