Developed an out-of-autoclave processing method for high temperature polyimide composites called Double Bag Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (DBVARTM)
Teamed with NASA and Boeing to develop a very unique double bag method which allows for the depletion of volatiles and provides pressure to allow for proper consolidation without the use of an autoclave
Fabricated representative aircraft hardware utilizing the DBVARTM process
Benefits of DBVARTM
Reduces the capital and processing costs
Allows for the fabrication of complex high temperature components with low void content
Reduces tooling costs
